Miranda Lambert is not your average sweet small-town girl from Texas, and her performances do a great job of explaining to us who she is when she is singing and how she truly feels. If you like country music and enjoy a country concert atmosphere then I definitely would suggest adding Miranda Lambert onto your "Must See Concerts List". Her concerts aren't your regular sit back and enjoy kind of shows, she is completely engaged with her fans throughout each song and has the crowd excitingly participating throughout the whole concert. From her clothes to her pink glittery guitar, Miranda has an automatic strong connection with her female fan base. Her songs speak from the heart, they tell a story, a story most likely every female has experienced at some point in life. The wonderful thing about music is that you can turn on a song and turn off the world for a moment and have time for yourself, music is an artistic expression and it allows you to feel whatever you want. Miranda without a doubt incorporates emotions within her songs, her songs are a way for her to let her feelings out and cope with the world around her; and that is exactly what she does for her fans, she gives them an opportunity though her music to be able to relate. Don't get me wrong, this isn't strictly a ladies crowd because the males love her too, she's got that sweetheart smile with a don't mess with me an attitude which has the guys drooling over her. I mean she's married to Blake Shelton…that says it all right there. One song Miranda rarely doesn't perform at her concerts is her popular hit "Gunpowder & Lead", below is a live performance of "Gunpowder & Lead" from a Nashville Concert.
During this performance and many of her other performances Lambert does not do much "dancing" or "performing" she is either standing firm behind the microphone singing exactly what she is feeling to her fans or she is walking around and shaking hands with the crowd and singing into their eyes. This performance specifically, Miranda starts the song off by addressing her audience with "this goes out to any girls out there who have been mistreated by a man" by doing song she has already drawn in their attention much more than they already were but now because she has personally reached out to them and let them understand she knows what they are feeling and they can be strong independently. The lyrics behind this song already have such powerful meaning, but when Miranda is performing you can hear the anger she genuinely has behind certain words, such as the word "Crazy" in the verse "he wants a fight, well now he's got one, he ain't seen me CRAZY yet." The emotions go much further then just the lyrics themselves its the emotion the artists puts behind it that makes it very meaningful and relatable for the audience.
During her "On Fire" tour Miranda Lambert performed with "Pistole Annies" a trio which Lambert is a part of along with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley and these weren't the only stars of this tour, Miranda also toured with Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann. This tour was set with 20 concerts that the stars were committed to perform at. Miranda Lamberts ticket prices are very reasonable for a country star like her, tickets starting at $34.75 or up $49.75 plus applicable fees. Wherever you are sitting, it will be a guarantee good time. I personally attended one of Miranda Lamberts "On Fire" concerts in St. Louis, MO with my sister and mom and it is a memory i cherish. The concert was great, the music was loud and the whole crowd was engaging with Miranda through each of her songs. Something Miranda did during this concert, that I actually had never seen before during a concert was Lambert covered Lady GaGas song "You and I". Miranda put her own twang into the song, (which I actually enjoyed much more) and still managed to relate with her crown while performing a "pop stars" own song, it was really cool to see how dedicated and passionate her fans really are.
Lamberts attitude through much of her concerts are upbeat, somewhat serious, in a "don't mess with me kind of way" but also emotional and very heart felt. Miranda Lambert and her husband Blake Shelton co-wrote "Over You" about the death of Sheltons brother who was killed in a car crash in 1990. This song is difficult for anyone who's recently lost a loved one to get through. Actually, its hard for anyone who hasn't lost a love one to get through, too.
Here below is a performance of Lambert and Shelton performing "Over You".
Some comments from both these videos consist of:
Gunpowder & Lead comments
"This woman right is all that needs said as to why you don't mess with a COUNTRY woman!!!"
Over You comments
"Deserved a standing ovation."
Miranda Lambert is an all around magnificent artist, she's strong and she's passionate on women's empowerment. Lambert has produced tons of popular country hits, awards, CMAs, and AMC awards but most importantly she knows who she is and what she wants and thats exactly what she does.
I enjoyed this blog very much. I think you described her performances well. Miranda Lambert relates to her audience before and during her songs even if she does not dance and move around a lot. I like that you mentioned the Pistol Annies because they are a big part of Miranda Lambert. It sounds like at her concerts, an audience really gets to see both sides of her. Covering Lady Gaga's song with her own twist at her concert shows her fun personality. There were a few grammar mistakes, but besides that this blog was great!
